These equity mutual funds gave over 30% return in three years. Have you invested in any?

There have been around 209 equity mutual funds that completed three years of existence in the market. An analysis of performance by ETMutualFunds showed that around 15 equity mutual funds have offered more than 30% in the last three years.

These 15 equity mutual funds were contra, ELSS, flexi cap, midcap, multi-cap and smallcap categories. Around eight smallcap, three midcap, one contra, ELSS, flexi cap, and multicap schemes featured on the list.

Quant Small Cap Fund

The smallcap fund gave a 40.02% return in the last three years. The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty Smallcap 250 - TRI which delivered a 30.43% return during the same period.

Two from midcap

Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund and Quant Mid Cap Fund, two midcap funds, gave 36.78% and 35.34% returns respectively in the last three years. Both the funds are benchmarked against Nifty Midcap 150 - TRI which gave a 28.16% return.

Two smallcap funds - Nippon India Small Cap Fund and HSBC Small Cap Fund - gave 35.05% and 33% returns respectively in the last three years. The schemes are benchmarked against Nifty Smallcap 250 - TRI which gave 30.43% return.

Quant Flexi Cap Fund

The flexi cap scheme offered 32.74% return in the last three years. The scheme is benchmarked against Nifty 500 - TRI which gave 19.94% during the same period.

Franklin India Smaller Cos Fund and HDFC Small Cap Fund gave 32.49% and 31.82% returns respectively in the said period.

In the list of schemes that gave more than 15% in three years, only one fund each from contra fund, multi-cap fund, and ELSS fund featured on the list. SBI Contra Fund, Nippon India Multi Cap Fund and Quant ELSS Tax Saver Fund gave 31.68%, 31.19%, and 19.94% returns respectively.

The other funds in the list were Tata Small Cap Fund, Bandhan Small Cap Fund, HDFC Mid Cap Opportunities Fund, and Canara Robeco Small Cap Fund. These schemes gave 30.73%, 30.13%, 30.10%, and 30% returns respectively.

In the list, four schemes were from Quant Mutual Fund, two schemes were from HDFC Mutual Fund and Nippon India Mutual Fund each. The other schemes were from Bandhan Mutual Fund, Canara Robeco Mutual Fund, Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund, HSBC Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, and Tata Mutual Fund.
