    Negotiations can be tough and fun!Check out this famous scene from the great movie Mulholland Drive (2001). I count 25 tactics in this one scene in a 5 min video. I have used some of these tactics before. Especially with an existing adversarial relationship. And they can work if you are focused on win/lose negotiations and care nothing of the relationship (not recommended in all cases)🤷😵 . These tactics work well especially with people who do not know how to handle surprising escalation and emotions. "Physical Props" are ALWAYS useful😳🫣🤣😉Have fun!https://lnkd.in/emBKSHxY

    #Epiroc is ALWAYS epic🌠🚀For the 10th year we started with another amazing group of the #highpotentials in the Accelerator Leadership Program ✅. We finished Module 1 Priority, Resource and Time Mgmt.These participants from 5 different countries 🇨🇿🇷🇴🇵🇱🇷🇸🇸🇰🇺🇸 are talented, hungry, ambitious and fast learners.I was very impressed with the class of 2024🤠 and am looking forward to work with them in Module 2 in Prague.Thanks to Epiroc and these fantastic participants.     In my training of participants of several topics I am often asked if Persuasion is manipulation.The difference between persuasion and manipulation has been a subject of debate for literally thousands of years.In ancient Greece during the 4thcentury BC the father of persuasion, Aristotle, opposed a group of teachers known as the Sophists.The Sophists provided instruction in various disciplines, but became infamous for their teaching of rhetoric.Aristotle clashed with the Sophists over the fact that they did not care about truth, but would promote any idea for a fee.Aristotle asserted that the Sophists were engaging in manipulation because they intentionally deceived people and caused harm. Persuasion seeks to win people over through honesty, transparency, and respect for their autonomy. In contrast, manipulation relies on cunning strategies that may undermine trust and individual agency. Persuasion in win/win with mutually beneficial intent. Manipulation is win/lose with disregard to consequences, or truth.Below is a great video of the harm of social media "unchecked" and how it has in targeted people's fears and the potential threat to Democracies worldwide. How they get paid to create divisiveness and confirm existing negative bias that perpetuates for, hate, and destruction. start at the 8:29 mark.
